Can I own a home without domestic package insurance?

Unlike driving a car, you can legally own a home without domestic package
insurance, which is optional. But if you bought your home and financed the
purchase with a mortgage, your lender will require you to have domestic
package insurance. Ideally, domestic package insurance should be arranged
by every home owner/occupier even without the financier’s obligation.
