Do I need to continue paying my monthly contribution to NHIF if I have medical insurance policy?

Yes, NHIF contributions are mandatory to all persons in formal employment.
Contributions will, therefore, be deducted by your employer from your salary.
The NHIF has now an optional scheme for the retired. In either case, private medical
insurance excludes the benefits available under the state scheme.
